BSA Troop 3, Newport, RI — chartered in 1947 — heads to Yawgoog Scout Reservation (Camp Yawgoog). Founded in 1916, Yawgoog is the fourth-oldest continuously run scout camp in the United States. An eight-week camping program is run every summer where scouts stay for a week with their troops. The reservation — spread across 1,800 acres — is divided into three camps: Three Point, Medicine Bow, and Sandy Beach. Troop 3 will be operating 20M/40M/80M voice & digital from Three Point using battery and solar power.
